Sep-Pak Alumina A Vac cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with an acidic surface chemistry. The aluminum oxide surface provides an extremely polar surface for analyte retention and has properties of a Lewis acid. This normal phase sorbent is similar in use to silica; however, it is slightly more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions. This acidic alumina is also low-capacity ion exchanger in aqueous media. Unlike polymer-based ion exhangers, this sorbent is unaffected by high-energy radioactivity and can be used for radioactive compound isolation. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

These Vac cartridges feature a moderately polar, silica-based bonded phase with a weakly basic surface. The sorbent can be used as a polar sorbent for acidic/basic analytes or as a weak anion exchanger. Designed for vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments, applications include extraction of phenols, petroleum fractionation, saccharides, and drugs.

The 6 cc Oasis HLB cartridge contains Oasis HLB sorbent, a universal polymeric reversed-phase sorbent that allows for the extraction of a wide range of acidic, basic, and neutral compounds from various matrices using a simple, generic method. The Oasis HLB sorbent is water-wettable, which means it maintains high retention and excellent recovery even if the sorbent bed dries out. This eliminates the need for special measures to prevent the sorbent bed from drying before critical steps such as sample loading.
